Spring Valley United Methodist Preschool
We provide a strong preschool education in a nurturing Christian setting. While SVUMC Preschool has a 60+ year history of teaching and mentoring young children, our caring staff uses current best methods and fresh materials in guiding each child to become the unique person God created them to be. Our Dallas preschool also offers a family environment that supports growth and development.

MISSION
The mission of Spring Valley United Methodist Church Preschool is to provide each child the essential building blocks for academic success and spiritual growth in a safe, nurturing environment. We believe that play is the work of childhood, and skills and knowledge are gained through experience. Learning concepts through play and exploration put children on a path to become lifelong learners.
CURRICULUM
Concepts and skills are taught through theme based instruction and guided learning centers. Lesson plans are created around units and include the following developmental areas: language and literacy development; beginning number awareness and math; gross and fine motor development, social and emotional growth.
Learning takes place in group settings such as morning circle and centers as well as individualized instruction. Lifeways Wee-Learn curriculum is used as a foundation. In addition, two through four-year-old classes use Frog Street Press as a tool for learning shapes, colors, numbers, and alphabet skills. Our PreK4 and Transitional Kindergarten classes use handwriting without tiers.
Music is on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for all ages.
Chapel is on Thursday for three, four and five-year-olds.
STAFF
All staff is hired based on a combination of education and experience. Our three- and four-year-old teachers are all degreed teachers. All of our teachers have experience, a heart for children, a love for learning, and share a Christian faith.
