The Music Ministry here at Spring Valley is a blessing to many in our church and community. Through worship, we experience God's Call to love through action. Our music ministry is an opportunity for our neighbors to encounter Christ at Spring Valley.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is one of the cornerstones of Spring Valley UMC. This ensemble leads our 10:30 a.m. worship experience on Sunday mornings and other special worship events for Advent, Lent, and Easter. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the choir room.

High school students and adults are invited to join. If you have a song in your heart, lift your voice with us! Childcare is available upon request.

Handbell Ensemble

Do you have a special gift or desire to play an instrument but may not know where to start? Be a part of our Handbells ensemble as we begin this group for those who love ringing! This group will play periodically throughout the church season and provide another way to give offerings to God through song.

Youth Music

Throughout the year, our youth are invited to participate in many worship events. Whether they sing or play an instrument, any gifts they bring are welcomed and appreciated.

Children’s Music

The children are the future of our church, and what better way to show it than music? We provide many opportunities for children to serve through Sunday worship and our summer music activities.

Rehearsals are on Sundays after worship in the choir room.

Thompson Organ

Spring Valley was blessed with a financial gift for an organ of such magnificence that its type is usually found in only the largest of cathedrals or concert halls. Because of the generous gift of Zoe and Dick Thompson, the Thompson Organ’s warm and exquisite tones provide an inspiring accompaniment for worship services and special musical events. The organ was specifically built for Spring Valley beginning in 1996 and was dedicated on February 13-14, 1999. The congregation of Spring Valley is doubly blessed with our organist, John Tarver, who has served this congregation for over two decades.
